Frequently Asked Questions

TechPerspectives.AI – Smart, practical AI consulting for small business owners

1. What exactly do you mean by “AI solutions” for my business?
AI solutions are tools and workflows that use artificial intelligence to handle tasks normally done by humans — but faster, cheaper, and often more consistently. At TechPerspectives, I specialize in tailoring these tools to the real needs of small businesses. That might mean using ChatGPT to generate client emails or product copy, using AI image tools to create marketing visuals without a graphic designer, or setting up smart automations that handle routine tasks like appointment reminders or social media posting. These aren't generic apps — they’re solutions I customize to match your business, your tools, and your comfort level with tech.

2. I’m a very small business. Will AI really help me?
Yes — and in many ways, you’re the ideal candidate. AI lets small operations punch above their weight. Whether you're juggling sales, marketing, and customer service yourself or leading a tiny team, AI can help free up your time and improve your customer experience without hiring more people. For example, you could use AI to auto-generate weekly emails based on your latest sales data, draft proposals, handle customer FAQs through a chatbot, or summarize long email threads so you can act faster. The return on investment can be immediate — often within days — if the solution is chosen and implemented wisely.

3. Isn’t AI expensive and complicated?
That’s the common myth. In reality, many of the best AI tools today are free or cost under $30/month — and some require no coding or technical skill to use. My job is to cut through the noise, identify what makes sense for your business, and set it up for you so it just works. If a tool has too steep a learning curve, I’ll simplify the workflow or choose a more user-friendly alternative. The consulting work I do is based on business value — not tech for tech’s sake. If I can't make it easy, efficient, and worth your time, I won’t recommend it.

4. What’s the first step if I want to work with you?
We start with a 90-minute feasibility session where I get to know your business — what you sell, who you serve, and where your bottlenecks are. I’ll walk you through a few ways AI can immediately make your life easier or help you make better decisions. You’ll leave with a concrete list of ideas, free or low-cost tool recommendations, and a rough outline of what implementation might look like. If you decide to hire me for setup or training, the session fee ($150) is credited toward your first invoice. If not, you still walk away with high-value insight for your business.

5. Will you train me or my team on how to use the tools?
Absolutely. I don’t believe in handing over a shiny tool and walking away. Every engagement includes clear documentation and walkthroughs tailored to your level of comfort with technology. If you or your staff want one-on-one or small group training, I offer sessions designed to get you confident using the tools I set up. For example, I’ve taught owners how to use ChatGPT to draft social media content, helped staff use spreadsheet-based AI tools to analyze sales trends, and built custom prompts they can reuse again and again.

6. Can you help me automate repetitive tasks I do in Excel or Google Sheets?
Yes — and this is one of the biggest hidden wins for small businesses. If you're copying data, merging spreadsheets, creating weekly reports by hand, or manually summarizing customer feedback, AI can automate all of that. I use tools like ChatGPT, Google’s AI assistants, and custom-built automations to clean up messy data, generate real-time summaries, and even alert you when patterns change — like a product suddenly selling faster or a dip in weekly sales. It’s like having an assistant who never sleeps and never gets bored.

7. What are some examples of how other small businesses use AI?
Here’s a quick sampling:

  • A solo real estate agent uses AI to write listing descriptions, answer buyer FAQs, and analyze market trends.

  • A local business I worked with now uses AI to respond to customer Google reviews, post SEO-optimized blog content, and analyze competitor pricing weekly.

  • A photographer uses AI to produce critiques, manage emails, plan social posts, name and sort client galleries.

  • A therapist automates clinical note templates and creates AI-generated client handouts tailored to specific conditions.

  • A one-person consulting business (mine) uses AI daily for planning, writing, scheduling, and exploring new service ideas — saving 10–15 hours a week.

These aren’t pipe dreams. They’re happening now, and the businesses are growing faster because of it.

8. I’m not tech-savvy. Will this be over my head?
That’s exactly who I designed my services for. I don’t expect you to learn new systems, memorize jargon, or keep up with every AI trend. I act as your translator — turning what feels complicated into something intuitive. I’ve worked with people who didn’t even know what a “prompt” was, and within one session they were using AI to write content, summarize sales data, and draft client emails confidently. If it’s not easy, we rework it. And if you ever get stuck, I’m here to support you with real-world solutions — not lectures.

9. Do I need to buy special software?
In most cases, no. Many of the AI tools I recommend are web-based, work with what you already use (like Gmail, Microsoft Office, or QuickBooks), and don’t require expensive licenses. If your business would benefit from a paid tool, I’ll make sure you understand what you’re getting and whether it’s worth it. I don’t resell or get commissions from any software — my only job is to help you choose the right tools and make them work for your business.

10. What is “agentic AI” and is it something I should care about now?
Agentic AI refers to AI tools that don’t just respond to prompts — they act. Think of an AI that schedules meetings, books services, handles email sorting, or files reports — all without you lifting a finger except to approve its actions if you want. It’s the next leap forward in automation, and it’s already starting to roll out. While it's still early days for most small businesses, the groundwork we lay now (like prompt structure, tool integration, and task workflows) can position you to take advantage of these agentic systems as they become mainstream. I can help you stay ahead of that curve — without taking unnecessary risks or wasting money on hype.
